BarCamp Nürnberg

Finally I found the time to write at least a few lines about BarCamp Nürnberg. I had a great time there even though I missed the first day. I got ill on Friday so I wasn't able to drive the 650 kilometers from Como to Nürnberg; I had to travel on Saturday.

When I first went into the venue I was a little confused. The board with all the sessions was there, but the post-its were almost unreadable. The subjects were modified during the initial organisation discussion. This is a good thing because the speakers were able to meet the interests of the attendees, but for someone who came along later it wasn’t easy to understand. I would suggest to use the wiki more for these purposes. So in the end I asked some of the guys standing around, but nobody really knew what the different sessions were about.

I attended three sessions more or less by chance which were really great. Great presentations and knowledge of the subject. The sessions were:

Thank you very much, Jörg Battermann, for organizing this great event.

Slowly getting ready for Barcamp Nuernberg

A good read for everybody who will attend a Barcamp in the future: Our big mistake at the Turin BarCamp. I hope I will remember Paolos suggestions when I am at Barcamp Nuremberg in less than two weeks.

I’m going to be at Barcamp Nürnberg from the 16th to 17th of December. I haven’t been to one of these events before even though I tried to make it to BzaarCamp in Milan. Unfortunately I was not in the area at that time.

I’m really looking forward to Barcamp Nürnberg. A BarCamp by the way is a so called un-conference.

A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. Learn more or OrganizeALocalBarCamp.BarCamp

There are already about 36 participants and another 20-ish who are not yet sure. So if you are in the nuremberg area on the 16th and 17th of December, come over. It will sure be a great event. I’m going to take as many photos as I can and make them available on my Flickr Account.
